Paddu/Guliyappa Recipe


Ingredients:


  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1/4 cup of urad dal
  • 1/4 cup of poha(Avalakki)
  • 4 Methi seeds
  • 2 tbsp Chana dal
  • Cooking oil
  • Onion, finely chopped
  • Green Chili,  finely chopped
  • 5 Curry leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp of grated carrot
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 cup of dil leaves/ Sabsige



Preparation:


Step 1: Soak rice, urad dal, methi, pota and chana dal for 8 hours.


Step 2: Grind the rice and dal mixture. Add salt while grinding. Make sure batter is smooth.


Step 3: Pour the batter in a big bowl and ferment over night.


Step 4: Next morning batter have raised ( slightly doubled)


Step 5: Further to batter, add green chili, cumin seeds, curry leaves, coriander leaves, dil leaves and grated carrot.


Step 6: Take paddu pan add ghee, pour batter and cover it in medium flame.


Step 7: Cook the other side. Serve with it chutney and enjoy.
